Teaching The Fundamentals of Global Entrepreneurship
The core idea of Know Opportunity is centered on the idea of thinking about business with a global mindset by teaching students how to live locally and work globally.
FULL CURRICULUM: Educators find the 36-week global entrepreneur curriculum easy to follow and adaptable to fit in with existing courses and lesson plans.
4 KEY AREAS OF DEEP LEARNING: The four key areas of Deep Learning are: Visual, Auditory, Kinetic, and Reading & Writing. Know Opportunity engages students on each of these levels.
BUSINESS PROFILES: Students start off the year by being given pre-defined business profiles, which they are to adopt. All lessons taught and knowledge gained in the first semester will be applied to these profiles, so that they can see how the information would apply to a real business. Some of these are recognizable professions/careers, others employ a little more whimsy. Here’s why:
BREAKS DOWN BARRIERS: Teenagers are especially susceptible to fear of peer thoughts. If they “have” to take on a profile, it removes any self-consciousness they may feel, and allows them to have fun while becoming fully engaged.
EXISTING CONNECTIONS BECOME MORE: Many students are active in social media or play video games with peers who live in other countries. We included foreign connections in each of the profiles so that students can understand a friend overseas can actually be a benefit to their business research and growth.
The 36 modular lessons in the curriculum are designed to be flexible. Many schools don't have dedicated entrepreneurship classes, so with this program you have access to build your lessons appropriate for your class format.

The curriculum was developed with the help of a 30-year tenured teacher at a nationally-ranked, academically rigorous charter school. The initial class was comprised of students spanning all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
In short, the curriculum works in any setting and has been applied in multiple scenarios including youth leadership groups, charter programs and classrooms.
Additionally, the curriculum is visually formatted in a way that integrates seamlessly with the board game. The lessons use icons found in the game to help reiterate points experienced through game play.

Know Opportunity was originally developed as a “hands-on” learning experience, giving students a taste of entrepreneurship in the global marketplace. Prior to launch, we sent prototypes of the game to board game shops, individuals, high schools, youth groups and colleges throughout the US, as well as places like Trinidad, South Africa, Morocco, England, and The Netherlands and integrated content based on feedback from players, entrepreneurs and board game enthusiasts around the world.
Know Opportunity is available as a stand-alone board game or as an educational tool which includes a year-long curriculum (optional) with opportunities for expository writing (business plan development), economics based math (profit and loss tracking), public speaking (elevator pitches to mock investors) and general business skills.

How to play
The Know Opportunity game is a companion to a comprehensive entrepreneurship course that includes global entrepreneurship curriculum (36-weeks) and the board game which teaches the fundamentals of global business building.
The curriculum has been utilized in the traditional classroom setting but also for a whole array of fun, learning, hands-on programs that increase skills, enhance confidence and support an understanding of global business fundamentals.
